About Lorne Station

Lorne is situated on 10,000 acres just 5 kilometres from the township of Lightning Ridge and is the only station stay within the area. Lorne Station is a family owned business situated approximately 690kms North-West of Sydney and 70kms from the Queensland border.  Lorne Station was first purchased bythe family back in 1946 and was run as a very successful sheep and cattle station.  Since then Lorne has grown and slowly evolved into a Holiday Station and Caravan Park with 20 powered sites.

Being a family owned and multi award winning home based business we give our guests a truly unique outback experience when they stay at Lorne Station.  The shear magic of Lorne begins when you venture down our gravel road and one can marvel at our innovative car door signs which give the tourist an insight into what we have to offer.

Just walking around the area makes one appreciate the natural beauty and this pastime is one of the very few that develops both the mind and the body. When your out here, it takes you far away from the hustle and bustle of the modern city and helps you to learn and appreciate the strange, peaceful charm of this Australian bush. The sheer beauty of outback NSW is something that the city dwellers can only hope to experience
