Art Gallery

The art gallery housed in our wool shed, this unique venue houses our private collection of 33 sculptures depicting the history of opal mining in Lightning Ridge.  The collection was made by renowned sculptor Graham Merrett who spent over three and a half years on the collection sometimes working up to 16 hours per day. The collection was to be sold off individually, however it is such an important collection that Lorne purchased the whole series and it is only available for viewing for our visitors. (This may change in the future). The art gallery is included in the FREE one and a half hour walking tour, which is a MUST DO at Lorne.
