FREE Walking Tour

Yes! Free walking tours through the opal fields. Here you can reminisce as we hear about the history of Lorne Station, then it is off through the opal fields of the three mile, Fred Bodell’s  camp,  Soapies camp, Lunatic Hill, then to Tina’s claim where we get the history of opal mining with the old windlass, yorke hoist, automatic hoist and to the latest type of mining.  The best part is that you can actually use ‘the wires’ to see if you can divine a fault on the opal claim.  

Just when you think you have divined your fortune it is off to Lorne’s private lookout to see the wonderful views that Lorne has to offer. (Champagne dinners are available upon request at the lookout).  From the lookout it is a walk through Lorne Station property and the opal mines in Lightning ridge.
