Easter is a great time to be at Lightning Ridge.

The entertainment is Fantastic.

Easter Friday starts festivities with The Black Opal Rodeo.

The World renowned Goat Races are run on the Easter Saturday morning.

Saturday afternoon sees the running of the Easter Horse Races. The $5,000 Opal Bracelet is the main event.

Both events draw large crowds.

Other events are the Opal Queen Ball, which is part of The Opal Festival in July.

Also part of The Opal Festival is the Jewellery Design Awards, with jewellers from all parts of Australia and the World competing, held during the Opal and Gem Expo.

September school holidays is when the Opal Princess Ball and the Lightning Ridge Police Bush Safari are held.

October : The Lightning Ridge Arts and Crafts Spring Exhibition.

The $35,000 Aristrocrat Black Opal Fours “Bowls Carnival” is held at the Lightning Ridge Bowls Club. 3rd week of October.
